We are Linguists!
MFL Curriculum Intent
St Martin’s teaches French using the Language Angels scheme of work and resources to ensure we offer a relevant, broad, vibrant and ambitious MFL curriculum that will inspire and excite our pupils.
The 4 key language learning skills; listening, speaking, reading and writing will be taught and all necessary grammar will be covered in an age appropriate way across the primary phase. This will enable pupils to apply their knowledge in a variety of contexts, laying down solid foundations for future language learning.
The intent is for all pupils to develop a genuine interest and positive curiosity about foreign languages. We endeavour to develop a deeper understanding of another culture and a better awareness of self, others and of cultural differences. Whilst doing so we aim to reflect our school vision of being “kind, respectful and responsible”.
The intention is that our pupils will be working towards being life-long language learners.
The MFL subject lead is Mrs Wild.
